On July 23rd 2010, in excess of ten inches of rain fell on the Lake Delhi Iowa watershed overwhelming the surrounding area and breaching the dam at Lake Delhi. The breach emptied the lake in a matter of just a few hours, washing away people's boats, docks, personal property and a way of life enjoyed by generations who lived on and played on her shorelines. This is a story about a lake, about a flood, but it is much more than that. This is a story about a way of life, at risk now unless we all pull together and determine that no matter what, we will be back.
