American Africans

American Africans chronicles the lives of African Americans who have chosen to reclaim their ancestral spirituality by practicing the traditional religions of the Yoruba, Fon, Akan, and other African ethnic groups in the United States. They are doctors, authors, lawyers, and teachers who for various reasons have chosen this path that is not readily accepted by Western society. These African Americans persevere daily not only to preserve these traditional African religions in their families but to educate others about them.
