A Unity of Purpose: Arkansas' Farmers (2010)

With many of Arkansas' third generation farmers approaching the end of their lives, the public was faced with the real and immediate risk of losing their rich agricultural history. In response, Arkansas Farm Bureau and Mindful Media Productions launched a five month, three-phase, statewide oral history project. From those rescued interviews we created 'A Unity of Purpose: Arkansas' Farmers.' It is the story of how, 75 years ago, a small group of Arkansas farmers set out to change their circumstances and ended up changing their state and country. The film shows how one of our nation's earliest grassroots movements became the largest farm association in the world.
