Journey's End (1954)

The film takes place in World War One, in the British trenches in March, 1918, just prior to the major German Spring Offensive. It is the interaction between several Officers and enlisted men, including the Company Commander all of whom have been psychologically damaged to varying degrees by their war experiences. Added to that is a newly arrived Officer with no military experience who doesn't understand why things are so.
