'The Cassette is dead'. The British media broadcasted this news to the nation in May 2007. Currys, one of the main electrical retailers in Britain had ceased stocking blank audiocassettes for the first time in their history. The story greatly impacted filmmaker Fred Burns who had recently embarked upon an impassioned love affair with cassette culture. It quickly dawned on Fred that for him at least, this death was more than a little premature. In this film Fred goes on a journey to investigate the legacy of the cassette-tape and the impact it had and still has on people's lives.
