Here we get a time-lapse look at Iceland's wild ride through the last decade, and how it fits the patterns of an island nation's 1100-year long history. The film follows the rise and fall of an Icelandic genetics company, the government that enabled it, and the cultural history that brought about that government. Iceland is a small population and its isolation make it a kind of a test tube nation, where both biological and social trends can be easily observed. The recent experiments with genetics and capitalism offer warnings on how not to balance the interests of the free market and the individual: Greed is not good.
