Ethel is a spoiled, high-spirited society girl with a fiery temper. She is wooed and wed by wealthy young doctor Horace Gray. Settling into marriage, she leads him a merry dance and he finds curbing her temper impossible; he tries kind methods without success. At last he consults a specialist who advises him to treat his young wife like she has been treating him. He does; Ethel is alarmed and consults the same specialist about Horace. The specialist tells her that Horace is an extreme and that he must never be thwarted in any way, but she must cater to him. She immediately becomes a devoted wife, lending every effort to satisfy her stricken husband's whims. Under this care, Horace gets rid of his ailment.
