Kotsos and the Extraterrestrials (1980)

Struggling to stay afloat, Kotsos, a small craft business owner at the end of his tether, finds himself with his back to the wall. And as if teetering on the brink of bankruptcy weren't enough, honest and hard-working Kotsos has to deal with corruption and the country's Kafkaesque bureaucracy while facing incarceration. However, help is closer than he thinks. When sophisticated alien life forms from the distant planet Kronium decide that the future of their home relies on the conservation of heavily polluted Earth, suddenly, Kotsos becomes a key player in the salvation of humankind.
