The Great Sacrifice (1962)

Disenchanted with Gianna, his frivolous, party-animal fiancée, the brilliant, up-and-coming architect, Dimitris Farras, decides to break off his engagement. Then, a chance encounter with the talented young singer, Christina, will pave the way for a whirlwind romance, and as one thing leads to another, the two lovers tie the knot and start a family. However, Dimitris' heartless and haughty mother, who never gave her consent to their marriage, is bent on ruining the newlyweds' happiness, going as far as to join forces with cruel, scheming Gianna.
