Appa (2017)

Arvind Iyer, a loving single father of an adopted beautiful daughter Shakti Iyer seemingly has a perfect happy family of two. Being a single parent his only dream is to find a perfect match for his daughter Shakti, as he remained single due to family responsibilities. Shakti, a rebel girl, falls in love with Ranbir, goes through a break up. Shakti gets married to a southindian boy selected by her father from an online matrimony site and is waiting for her new journey as a wife. An unfortunate marriage involving marital rape and abuse explores the bond between father and daughter and their struggle against social norms. In such a situation a father has to make a choice for his daughter. APPA is the story of what will a father do in such a situation. Will she fight for her daughter's happiness or give in to social pressures, knowing the consequences she may have to face?
