Teruo Ikeda cannot find a job, has become completely negative and withdraws into his apartment. Yuki Nakaoka is so worried about Teru that she buys him a hoka-ben (bento box meal) and visits him at his apartment. Yuki is worried about Teru, who is honest, awkward and troublesome when he gets passionate. Then they argue vehemently. Yuki had a curious part-time job on the Internet called "self rental". For 1,000 yen an hour, she listens to other people's stories, which is a somewhat strange job, but it seems to have its fair share of customers. As it turns out, Teru also decides to start renting himself out, but his earnestness and out of control attitude make him respond with such force that the other party is taken aback even when he is renting himself out. One day, Teru receives a rental request from Koichi Goto, the general manager of a pharmaceutical company.
