The Act of birth. The first look of a child coming into the world. The first moments of life. The first encounter between mother and child. All of this recorded on videotape. "Ato de Vida" documents the proceedings of Susana Pacheco, the only recorder of these moments in the city of Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil, and her moral and emotional investment in this act.
