Casida of the Lament Gacela of the Dark Death: The Second Incarnation (2014)

Casida of the Lament Gacela of the Dark Death is a concert dance film which experiments with liminal place and time, presenting a simultaneously perceived midnight juxtaposed with high noon. It was filmed at the State Playhouse on the campus of California State University Los Angeles May, 2014 and at Los Angeles State Historic Park February, 2014, in front of an installation for the Day of the Dead created by Angelino artists, and these two locations are combined using multi-camera editing, and matched action to create a concert dance film that seems to occur in two places at the same time. Casida of the Lament Gacela of the Dark Death was officially selected for Los Angeles CineFest competition in March 2015.
