Rachel is a confident yet arrogant exotic dancer whose sudden diagnosis with muscular dystrophy changes the course of her life. Her best friend Lisa takes her to a comedy club in an attempt to cheer her up. Rachel resists, but ends up finding inspiration to get back on stage, but this time as a comedienne. Rachel turns to stand-up comedy to share her experience with muscular dystrophy and cope with her disease. She tours her act with Lisa and grows into a confident comedienne. As Rachel's reputation as a comic rises, so does the progression of her muscular dystrophy.
