"A painter of large, arresting canvases, Brian Clarke has also designed some of the most exciting stained glass to appear on the contemporary art scene. This visually striking documentary follows Clarke on a journey to Lancashire, in Great Britain, where he grew up as a prodigy in a working-class family. The film charts his artistic development during the heyday of punk and his eventual success as a stained glass artist working with some of the most revered names in architecture, including Norman Foster and Arata Isozaki. Viewers are also introduced to the spectacular work Clarke has produced in the U.S., Japan, Brazil, and Europe. On-camera commentators include architect Zaha Hadid, one of Clarke's closest friends, as well as architect Peter Cook and art historian Martin Harrison."
