Chico (2016)

Time is running out for Mario. He must locate small-time Mexican hustler Chico who "owes him money" before Monday, or his life may be over. Is there a secret behind Mario's desperate need for cash? The cat-and-mouse chase takes Mario through the colorful Mexican neighborhood of Boyle Heights and leads him to nearby Downtown Los Angeles, on a Saturday night filled with violence and unexpected encounters. An atmospheric drama, driven by powerful images and pulsating music, CHICO takes the viewer on a psychedelic roller-coaster ride, while touching upon social themes like human suffering and economic disparity.
