Young artist Kurt Barnert (Tom Schilling) has fled to West Germany but continues to be tormented by the experiences of his childhood and youth in the Nazi years and during the GDR-regime. When he meets student Ellie (Paula Beer), he is convinced that he has met the love of his life and starts to create paintings that mirror not only his own fate, but also the traumas of an entire generation.

A nude young woman stands and faces her family.

At the beginning a young girl is playing a piano fully naked. Her bare back and part of her butt can be seen. A boy sees her then she faces toward him fully nude. Full frontal nudity and pubic hair can be seen.

A woman gives birth to a child. The doctor takes the baby out of between her legs and put it on her chest. Her bare left breast is visible.

A man is posing for some students who are drawing him holding a hammer in his hand. The students make a sexual joke toward him and the hammer in his hand.

A young boy and girl has sex. They are together nude in bed while he is in between her legs. Then he begins to thrust while she moans. She gets out of bed and is seen fully naked. Later the boy is fully naked while his half erected penis can be seen for a second.

A woman sees a fully naked man and gives him his clothes. No genitals can be seen.

It shows the boy and the girl having sex in the upstairs room while trying not to make any noises. She is riding him then he gets on up of her and thrusts.

It shows the girl lying on the boy both are fully naked. Then when she removes from him her bare breasts can be seen.

The boy comes home and sees the girl sitting. He comes to her and begin to touch her clothed breasts then the boy entirely unbuttons girl's shirt to expose her both breasts. Then they begin to undress each other and have sex while standing against the wall. Thrusting and moaning is present.(Complete Male buttocks & glimpse of female public hair can be seen partially.)

Then again it shows them fully naked while she is lying on him and shows them again rolling in bed.

The boy asks the girl to pose nude for him so he can draws her. She comes on top of stairs fully naked while her bare breasts and public hair is fully visible.

At the beginning a little boy draws a picture of a naked woman with breasts and public hair visible.

Some art works presenting naked breasts or buttocks can be seen.

Group of female prisoners take off their all clothes at prison room. we can see full nudity (breasts,buttocks,public hair, but no genitals due to hair and camera angles) intermittently. Disturbing, and entirely nonsexual.

The little boy peeks on a young girl's breasts through her translucent dress. However her breasts are not shown in this scene. No nudity.
