A decision has to be made. Now. Staring unseeing at the sparkling city lights of Waikiki by the backdrop of the iconic Diamond Head, Karla had to weigh her options before things get out of hand. What was a girl to do when faced with making a choice of helping an imperiled friend with whom she owed her very soul, or finally grabbing with both hands her dream of finishing med school? This is a journey of Karla and Matthew, two souls besieged by cultural differences, loyalty and painful decisions, who finally learns to accept each other totally. Karla is an international student earning her pre-medicine degree at the University of Hawai'i. Studying abroad is not cheap and since she doesn't have a working visa, she is perforced to take on non traditional jobs that she morally opposes to tide her over financially. She tumbles into one indecision after another when she has to help a friend who is in dire need. From the first moment Matthew, 25, saw Karla, 24, frolicking with the waves, he knew she was the one. Recognition of this life altering minute is followed by the roller coaster of emotions- intrigue, sacrifice, pain, joy and later, acceptance.
