Journey to the East (2021)

Journey to the East embarks on an epic philosophical adventure to explore ancient answers to humanity's biggest challenges. George Thompson has been exploring Daoism since 2018, when he stumbled upon it whilst looking for comfort from anxiety and low self-esteem. Now, two years later, he finds himself up at night again - this time from the sorrow and pain of the world: war, famine, environmental collapse. George resolves to return to China, to his Master and Daoism's birthplace in the Wudang Mountains. There, he hopes to get deeper into this mysterious philosophy, to challenge it with humanity's issues, and see if it can provide any answers for our increasingly complex and urgent global problems. Ideas that work beyond the mountains, back in everyday life. Before that however, he first has to get to China. Shrugging off news reports of a peculiar new virus in Hubei Province, George pushes on and starts the long journey to Wudang, one hour away from Wuhan.
