Paul Jernberg is an American musician, composer and educator. For 25 years, he has been composing sacred music for the Catholic liturgy. Born into a Baptist Swedish family, his burning spiritual quest, marked by the meeting of Franciscan friars in Sweden, then of the l'Arche community in France, led him to become Catholic. Equipped with a solid classical musical training, passionate about Jazz and Gospel, he will then put his talent and his knowledge at the service of the Catholic liturgy, and compose the first integral mass for the English translation of the new Roman Missal. This Mass, which draws on the great tradition of Gregorian chant and Slavic polyphony, is sung by choirs in many parishes in America and around the world. Today, through his compositions, lectures and trainings, Paul Jernberg works for the renewal of sacred Catholic music, which meets the immense challenge of the new evangelization.
