A large, 25 meter diameter Sythian tomb is meticulously excavated for clues about Scythian culture. The Scythians, a nomadic, horse dependent people of the Asian steppe left no written records other than the potentially biased writings of their neighboring cultures in Greece, Persia and China. The tomb contains the body of a prince and his mother along with several horses adorned in full regalia. While most of the gold artifacts were looted long ago, wood carvings, some still gilded, from the horses' harnesses testify to the fine craftsmanship of the Scythians despite their nomadic nature.
