Northland - An Impression (1971)

A documentary about the northernmost region of New Zealand. Subtropical Northland means holidays, hibiscus, and bikinis. History too: our first European settlers lived here. Using images and music only, this film touches on the many things which make Northland the colorful area it is. Brief shots include: popular beach-side settlements; tourism; deep sea fishing; stone store at Kerikeri; Treaty House at Waitangi and many other Northland pioneer buildings. Rural farming; fauna; housing; sculptor; screen printer at work; industry; oil industry and young people surfing.
