Acto de Fé (2019)

Camilo is a boy with diminished hearing capacity, the result of a childhood condition, who, with the overprotection of his mother Doña Jesusa and his mentor, the priest of the town, is forced, by traditional education, to always follow the mandates of both characters, who to exemplify absolute authority. Zazil, on the other hand, also born in Maní, is a young girl, daughter of a conservative family who went to live in the state capital, because of her father's suffering, she returns to Maní along with the whole family: she has the conviction of wanting following the path of his grandmother, who was a healer in life, and without losing the objectivity indicated by his personality, denies agreeing to the wishes and thoughts of his parents. These two young people when they meet, magically immerse themselves in the transparency of a true friendship, guided by empathy, they get to know each other and love, however their affection is judged and marked by the conditions of one and the decisions of the other. The prejudices and traditions of their respective families and neighbors force them to make drastic decisions in the pursuit of personal fulfillment and mutual happiness.
