Breadcrumbs (2021)

In an uncertain city, time, and era, C., a needy man knocks on the doors of a neighboring building in search of some bread for his children. P., a reserved man, opens the door. C. explains his situation and says that selfish people are more likely to help others. P. gets confused and asks to clarify. They engage in a long conversation about egoism and good deeds. C. tries to get across his argument that people often help strangers to feel good about themselves, not necessarily because of purely altruistic motives. Their confrontation takes an inevitable turn. "Breadcrumbs" is its own world that seems so familiar yet surreal.
