Pieces of Rebecca (original title: Rebeccas Rum) is an intimate and poetic portrait of a passionate workaholic who is trying to find a balance between her profession and who she is. In order to be happy, Rebecca has risked it all and created her own clothing brand, Veras. Everything about it is personal and in the course of a year, the filmmaker follows her journey to capture the fragility of such ambitious choice. Based in the fashion industry in Copenhagen, Rebecca introduces us to a colorful universe, as she struggles to fit all the bits and pieces of who she is into this fast-paced reality. From early beginnings in an empty store space, to the sharp corners of board meetings, Rebecca fights in relentless ways for a space to "just be". Besides unpaid bills, needy interns, Airbnb rentals and angry landlords, the biggest challenge for Rebecca turns out to be herself. As Veras grows larger and the demands greater, she realizes that in order to survive she will need to rearrange her own reality. Even she, must build a private space, where all she needs to be, is Rebecca. This film goes beneath the show of it all and portrays the harsh frame of reality for a courageous woman in a monumental year of her life.
