This is a story about the Sundarbans (the largest mangrove forest in the world), its vulnerability created by man-made threats and the pure- hearted caretakers who devote their lives in protecting the forest and its rich resources. With a mere rifle, Shundor Ali, an ordinary guard employed by the Forest Department of Bangladesh, carries the great responsibility of protecting all of the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest in the world and most importantly, its tigers and other endangered wildlife. However, guarding the Sundarbans is no easy feat. Shundor Ali alone stands tall against the criminals who attempt to destroy the beauty of the forest and its life. The poachers and notorious outlaws are always after the forest's rich resources and Shundor Ali is determined to keep their dirty hands away. He is also hateful towards the corrupt social and political leaders, who seem benevolent on the outside, but are like the devil on the inside. These so called leaders pay the criminals to poach animals and rob goods from the hard-working poor fishermen and honey-collectors, who make their living in the Sundarbans. The innocent and fed-up victims of these crimes are allies of Shundor, helping him to track down the culprits and make the beautiful forest safer for the animals and humans alike.
