Thin Blue Lie (2022)

After exposing her corrupt captain, young policewoman Josephine Pratt is transferred to a small town in the middle of nowhere. The precinct does not take kindly to the new arrival, except for her partner David, whose previous partner died a few months prior. When the two accidentally discover an extremely valuable painting, Jojo - in a moment at her lowest in her life - proposes they sell it on the black market and keep the money, but David refuses. It is then that Jojo reveals that she has proof of David's involvement in his partner's death, and she attempts to blackmail him. David seems to sincerely want to leave the syndicate that forced him to kill his partner, but, as soon as Jojo lowers her guard, he stabs her in the neck with an empty syringe. As he covers his tracks, the painting can be seen in the car.
