Buck - O Monstro da Lagoa (2016)

In general, in the memory of the sport, we remember, most of the time, the winning athletes. It is natural to be so, since they are the protagonists of the competitions. But in the history of Brazilian rowing, a technician played the main role. Guilherme Augusto do Eirado Silva, Buck, rowing, Flamengo and the Brazilian team, was champion of Rio de Janeiro thirty times. He led the Brazilian team on twenty occasions, and his athletes won 21 medals at the Pan American Games. Buck participated in seven Olympics. In 1976, the headline of Jornal da Tarde said: "Buck, father, owner, inventor of Brazilian rowing. For the first time we beat Argentina".
