The documentary traces the cultural, social and political history of Guinea-Bissau; from the national liberation struggle against Portuguese colonial power to the last populist governments. Tracing this story through testimonies and repertoire material, the work questions the concept of democracy itself, how it was applied as an imported product from the West not only to the guineens political context, but also in many others African countries.
