Overall the whole mini-series can be quite frightening.
(Deleted. Personal opinions about ratings are not appropriate for the Parents Guide.)
A Skeleton crawls out of a lake and grabs a boys ankle
Scenes with Pennywise the Clown, which are integral to the story, will most likely scare young children.
Tiny monster-like creatures ( eyeballs, spiders, crabs etc ) come out of fortune cookies.
A character helps a man escape from a psychiatric asylum by turning into a clown with a barking dog's head.
A girl is in the bathroom and strange demonic noises from Pennywise are heard coming from the sink drain along with the voice of Georgie pleading for her to save him.
A red balloon ascends from the drain and explodes splattering raw blood everywhere
A woman visits her old house to fin and an old woman now living there and while they are drinking tea, the women's cup fills with blood and the old woman turns to a demon
The library scene can be mildly frightening, but it is mostly concieved by many viewers to be hilarious.
Any gore or blood or monsters/creatures look very fake and unrealistic, especially the clown's true form at the end of the movie.
