Hank Maiden is a no-nonsense retired steelworker running for city council while raising his two children. His daughter Jen, a college student bent on a career in broadcasting, interviews metal artists on her radio show, "Metal In The Microwave," while Zane, Jen's 10-year-old brother, wages intergalactic war with his space toys and computers.
