Paradise High is the epitome of millennial culture. The only times the teen students aren't snapping or tweeting is when they're finding the next hot thing to be posting about. Cheerleading, football, theater, a hot date, a brand-new Ferrari. These teenagers are fame-hungry and eager to get their names out there -- their reputations are constantly on the line, after all. But this need for attention and popularity takes its toll on Paradise when the school's "It Girl", Rowan Abernathy, is found dead. An apparent suicide. Maybe the pressure to be popular finally took its toll on her - or maybe she was murdered. The cops might not believe that someone would want to kill the "beloved" Rowan Abernathy. But, intrepid Olive Lockgrove knows that Rowan didn't commit suicide. She can think of a dozen reasons someone would want her dead. In fact, she can think of a dozen people who would want her dead. And this isn't the first time that Olive has had to track down a killer without the aid of the police.
