An uncanny young actress is waiting at a self-tape studio for her reader, who is once again running late. When he finally arrives, she asks that they run through all four audition scenes - portraying a sardonic mental patient (Sarah Kane's "4.48 Psychosis"), Ophelia (William Shakespeare's "Hamlet"), comedian star Ellie Truman, and pseudobulbar sufferer Anne-Marie Fleck - without stopping. Her reader complies, unaware she's hiding a dark secret that's about to push the boundaries between performance and reality over the edge. The film was shot in one continuous take.
